New Zealand Herald states that Pakistan summoned allrounder Mohammad Hafeez on Monday for the two-test series against Australia starting in the United Arab Emirates from Oct. 7. Hafeez is the fourth opener in the squad beside regular test opener Azhar Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, and the uncapped Fakhar Zaman. The 37-year-old Hafeez has played 50 tests, but none since 2016 in England. He has 3,452 test runs at an average of 39.22, and has taken 52 wickets with his offspin bowling.
