Wall Street's rally lost steam on Monday but the blue-chip Dow still eked out a record finish despite sagging financial stocks.
After spending much of Tuesday in the red, the Dow Jones Industrial Average scraped into positive territory, finishing up less than a tenth of a percent at 23,557.23, making the fourth straight record close.
The broader S&P 500 finished less than a tenth of a point lower at 2,590.64, while the Nasdaq saw heavier losses, falling 0.3 percent to 6,767.78.
