Carole Radziwill has penned an open letter discussing husband Anthony Radziwill's death.
The 51-year-old reality star wrote the post following Tuesday's episode of The Real Housewives of New York City, which saw Radziwill travel to London to retrieve her husband's ashes over 15 years after his death.
"It was a story I was reluctant to tell for many years," she admitted on her blog. "It took me some time to allow Bravo to follow that story. Initially, I said no. I couldn't imagine talking about this part of my life so publicly."
Radziwill and her late husband, the only son of Prince Stanislas Radziwill of Poland and Lee Bouvier, met at ABC, and married in August 1994. Anthony Radziwill died after a years-long battle with testicular cancer at age 40 in August 1999.
"Sure, I cried a bit [on the episode] and that is always embarrassing to me to watch, but in the end, as I watched it, I felt proud," she shared. "Proud that I had the courage to talk about my husband. Proud, again, of the life we built together and proud of the life I have built since."
"My heartbreak isn't harder than anyone else's," she asserted. "We all have to endure this life journey. Mine has brought me immense joy and immense pain ... A lasting gift from Anthony is the relationship I have with his mother. We share his memory together, and we share his loss."
