Elham Shahein: No changes in ‘Qadiat Ma'ali Al Wazeerah’ script

Egyptian actress Elham Shahein has stated that her series “Qadiat Ma'ali Al Wazeerah” (The Cause of Her Excellency the Minister), broadcast by El Hayat, was written two years before the revolution. "There were no changes to the script so that it would suit the new situation in Egypt...any changes would take away from the central plot," she said. Shahein said: “I don't think the writers hurriedly added changes the plotline, we have followed Mohsen el-Galad's original idea...the corruption we talk about in 'Qadiat Maali Al Wazeerah' was present before the revolution and part of our history, and we should not forget out history, erase it or deny it." She added: “The series discusses corruption in many ministries and the pressure the minister faced in order to give lands to foreign investors, and other kinds of corruption that will be revealed in future episodes."
