ABC says it has set January premiere dates for its eagerly anticipated new series Galavant and Marvel's Agent Carter.
Co-starring Joshua Sasse as the title character, Timothy Omundson as King Richard, Vinnie Jones as Gareth, Mallory Jansen as Madalena, Karen David as Isabella and Luke Youngblood as Sid, Galavant is a fantasy musical comedy created by screenwriter/executive producer Dan Fogelman, composer Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater.
"Once upon a time, the dashing hero Galavant lost the love of his life Madalena to the evil King Richard. Now, our fallen hero is ready to take revenge and restore his 'happily ever after.' But it won't be without a few twists and turns along the way," a synopsis said.
The show is to debut Jan. 4.
Starring Hayley Atwell, Dominic Cooper and James D'Arcy, Marvel's Agent Carter is scheduled to bow Jan. 6.
"It's 1946 and peace has dealt Agent Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy finds herself stuck doing administrative work when she would rather be back out in the field, putting her vast skills into play and taking down the bad guys. But she is also trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life, Steve Rogers -- aka Captain America," ABC set the scene in a news release.
