The Comeback reportedly plans to make a six-episode return to television. The series originally aired for one season on HBO, and gained cult status after its cancellation in 2005. The comedy stars Lisa Kudrow as a washed up television star who agrees to appear on reality show The Comeback. The show is shot in a reality show-style format, and also stars Laura Silverman and Malin Akerman as Jane and Juna, respectively. Sources tell E! News that the new episodes will pick up nine years after the finale left off. HBO has not officially confirmed the revival. Rumor has it show creator Michael Patrick King (Sex & the City) has teamed up with Dan Bucantisky (Scandal, Grey's Anatomy) and Amy B. Harris (Sex & the City, The Carrie Diaries) to write the new episodes. The return to television is said to be temporary, with the possibility of continuation if the episodes do well.
