Screen icon James Caan has joined the cast of the Miami-set drama series "Magic City," Starz said Thursday. Best known for his work in "The Godfather" films and "Misery," as well as TV's "Las Vegas," Caan will play Sy Berman, the head of organized crime in Chicago, in the second season of "Magic City," which is to air on the cable television network next year. "A father figure to Ben, Sy saw the potential in the young con and encouraged Ben's criminal talents -- creating 'The Butcher.' Unbeknownst to Ben, Sy also has a secret connection to Ben's wife Lily, played by Jessica Marais," a synopsis said. Danny Huston plays Ben in the show. "Magic City" gives Caan the chance to reconnect with his fellow "Godfather" veteran, Alex Rocco, who played Moe Greene in the Academy Award-winning 1972 film. Rocco plays Arthur Evans, father of Jeffrey Dean Morgan's character, in "Magic City." Also joining the ensemble this season will be Esai Morales, Sherilyn Fenn and Jamie Harris.
