Vince Vaughn and Elisabeth Moss may join the cast of True Detective.
The 44-year-old actor and 32-year-old Mad Men actress are being considered for lead roles on the program's second season. Vaughn would star as Frank Seymon, a former thug-turned-businessman and the season's central antagonist, while Moss would portray Ani Bezzerides, a no-nonsense sheriff with a gambling and alcohol problem.
The new season takes place in California, and centers around the murder of a corrupt city manager, and the three law enforcement officers who investigate the crime. Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch (Friday Night Lights) and Michelle Forbes (The Killing) are also rumored for roles.
The first season of True Detective was set in Louisiana, and premiered on HBO in January. The show follows an anthology format, so original stars Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Michelle Monaghan, Michael Potts and Tory Kittles will not return.
True Detective season two will premiere in 2015.
