This star was discovered by director Hosny Saleh when he gave her the role of a wife who remians faithful to her husband who is in love with somebody else, in the show “Sheikh Al Arab, Hamam” (Arab’s Sheikh, Hamam). Rawan Fouad went on to star in the show “Wadi El Melouk” (El Melouk Valley). The Egyptian actress in an interview with Arabstoday talked about her new show in Ramadan this year, “Hafat Al Ghadab” (The edge of anger), with veteran actor Hussein Fahmy, and much more. When asked about her role in “Hafat El Ghadab”, she said it was a re-discovery for her on the artistic field, and considered it an important step in her career. "Director Hosny Saleh is the one who recommended me, as I worked in two series with him 'Sheikh Al Arab, Hamam' and 'Wady Al Melouk'...it was my first leading role," she said. Rawan Fouad said she was scared while working with an actor as great as Hussein Fahmy considering his experience, calling it "a new birth certificate" for her career. "He's a great teacher and I have learnt so much," she said. Rawan said that she refused many TV shows, because she did not want to play the role of an upper Egyptian girl as she will play two characters totally different from her usual roles. "The series is divided into two parts, every part consists of 15 episodes. The first part is a romantic social comedy, and i play the role of a fourth-year medical student who falls in love with Hussein Fahmy's character 'Moheb', a professr. The professor is then revealed to have been in a relationship with her mother when she was young, so he decided to stay away from her, but she still follows him, until he falls in her love and marries her. However, problems will arise and they will end up divorcing each other. "In the second part, the plot is taken from the writings of Colombian writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez, entitled 'Death Foretold', in which I play the role of a country girl, the sister of actor Hussein Fahmy, and I face a lot of troubles because of his violent behaviour," she explained. About working with Saleh for the third time, Rawan said: "He's the one who discovered me after seeing me as a host on the Iraqi 'Al Adalah' TV Channel, and I think our co-operation is better than before after I got great experience with him. I respect him so much, especially as he is the one I owe my career too...I hope to work with him again soon." Rawan also hit back at talk that that her beauty was the main reason for her success and popularity, and also why director Saleh cast her, saying: "Beauty might have given me a foothold in this industry, but for a great name like Hosny Saleh to continue working with a new girl, it requires talent!" Rawan revealed that she is part Lebanese on her mother's side, and owes her Egyptian features to her father. "My mother, who is Lebanese sdores Egypt, and she lives in Egypt and she can cook the Egyptian Molokhya (Egyptian popular food) like Egyptians," she laughs. The star said she is getting ready for workshops with actor Hany Ramzy, after finishing the series “Hafat Al Ghadab”, for a new untitled film. It is written by Mohamed Soliman, and is a romantic comedy which will have a little political projection that Egypt faces. Rawan's experience as an anchor includes shows on 'Al Adala', 'Mahameez' and 'Villa Al Nogom'.
