A slight rise in temperatures is expected on Sunday to hover around annual average, while it will remain relatively cold in the mountainous areas and pleasant in the other regions, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.
Clouds at low altitudes are also expected during morning hours in the northern and central regions, gradually accumulate and turn into high altitude- clouds with southeasterly moderate winds.
Daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman will reach 17 degrees Celsius, 18 in the northern cities and 16 in the southern governorates, dropping down to 10, 12 and 9 respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 26 degrees Celsius and lows standing at 16, the JMD explained.
On Monday, the weather will remain relatively cold during daytime with clouds at various altitudes, but starting afternoon, the Kingdom will be affected by slight unstable weather conditions with a chance for scattered showers that may turn heavy with thunder mainly in the eastern regions.
A further drop in mercury levels is also expected on Tuesday, becoming below seasonal average and bringing relatively cold and partly cloudy conditions with a chance for scattered showers during daytime mainly in the northern and western regions.
Winds will be westerly moderate to brisk, stirring dust in the eastern and southern parts of the Kingdom, the JMD added.
