The Kingdom on Thursday will be affected by a depression centered over Cyprus, bringing cold and partly cloudy conditions, with rainfall at times across the country, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said.
At night, heavy rain accompanied with thunder and hail are also expected, causing floods in valleys and lowlands, while winds will be southwesterly moderate to brisk picking up at times, the JMD added.
As for Today, temperatures will slightly drop, bringing relatively cold weather with a chance for scattered showers during daytime mainly in the northern region and southwesterly moderate winds, the JMD added.
Daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman will reach 13 degrees Celsius, in the northern cities 16, and 12 in the southern areas, dropping down to 7, 9 and 7 respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 25 degrees and lows standing at 15, the JMD said.
On Friday, the country will remain under the impact of the depression with cold weather and heavy rain in the northern and central regions accompanied by thunder and causing floods in valleys and lowlands.
A slight rise in mercury levels is expected to prevail on Saturday, but the weather will remain cold and partly cloudy with a chance for rain at daytime. The chance of rain will decrease at night, but with low horizontal visibility due to the formation of fog.
