Maria looked gorgeous in a J Mendel gown from the Resort 2013 Collection, carrying an exotic Giuseppe Zanotti clutch, Jimmy Choo shoes, a cuff and pave diamond stud earrings by Lara Bohinc. The 25-year-old tennis player was nominated for Best Female Athlete. She was up against basketball’s Brittney Griner, alpine skier Lindsey Vonn, and soccer player Abby Wambach. The award ultimately went to Brittney who thanked her family, including her mother watching from home. Later this month, Maria will be playing at her first Olympics for her home country Russia.
