Brazilian jewellery brand H.Stern has unveiled its latest collection, inspired by the curved sketches of architect Oscar Niemeyer, whose projects include Brasília, the capital of Brazil, and other buildings, including the United Nations headquarters, in New York. Minimalism and lightness, moulded in yellow gold or white gold with diamonds, are common features to all the designs, which were inspired by iconic architectural projects or unknown doodles. It was the wavy design of this Niemeyer-signature Copan building in Sao Paulo that was the inspiration behind the new Copan ring now presented in wavy forms made of 18k white gold with diamonds. The Ibirapuera Park in Sao Paulo, projected by Niemeyer in 1954 to celebrate the city's 400th anniversary, was the inspiration for the creation of Monument, two pairs of earrings made in its image and likeness, of 18k yellow gold or white gold with diamonds. Lastly, Flower takes its inspiration from Niemeyer’s sketch of a hand holding a flower with four leaves. This drawing (shown above) provided the inspiration for new rings in 18k yellow gold and 18k white gold with diamonds, a pendant and two pairs of earrings, one in which the flower in 18k white gold with diamonds (pictured above right), and a hanging model in 18k yellow gold. The new collection will be available from 1 March at H.Stern Sloane Street and Harrods Fine Jewellery Room.
