Launched three seasons ago, Swarovski’s line of jewelry and accessories for men has firmly established the company’s presence in the male domain. Equally ambitious and contemporary, the new Spring/Summer 2012 collection is available at a wide selection of sales points throughout the world. “Following the success of the first jewelry pieces, I wanted to ensure this new collection had a sense of continuity with the introductory lines in terms of modern, bold design. Using the strong symbolism of the “N the Skull” motif, I have focused on a contemporary rock style with a twist of dark humor. The design remains clearly masculine throughout the new lines,” explains Creative Director Nathalie Colin. “A collection of small leather items, as well as numerous cufflinks and an “N theSkull” figurine, have also been developed to bring an unmistakable touch of Swarovski to the male world,” adds the designer. The “Revolution” theme combines a variety of surface textures featuring elegant faceted crystal, the hallmark of the company. A chic, understated pendant offers a fresh interpretation of the mechanical symbol of the nut. Held by brushed or polished steel, the elegant Crystal Satin faceted crystal is subtly highlighted by a chain with rectangular links. The ring of the same theme provides contrast through the use of Jet Hematite crystal, and its square facets set off the metal ring, which has a satin finish on the inside and polished on the outside. The Swarovski man can choose from matching cufflinks with either Jet Hematite or Crystal Satin crystal. Faceted in the same way as the pendant, each crystal cufflink features a small screw in polished steel. Combining elegance, and refinement, each piece is both timeless and contemporary. The “N the Skull” and “Phase” pendants are designed for men with an edgy outlook. The chain bracelet from the “Nevada” line completes this masculine look. Large links made of rhodium-plated metal are paired with a black plaque boasting a reptile motif with mini tone-on-tone crystals, applied using Swarovski’s signature Pointiage technique. The “Reason” line is inspired by masculine textile patterns, and imitates a tone-on-tone woven design, subtly engraved in steel and finished with black crystals. Taking the form of a rectangular plaque, the pendant offers an elegant chevron motif. This engraving is paired with understated mini black faceted crystals. A masculine cuff beautifully complements its sophisticated design, combining crystal and steel. The chevron design, set with black crystals, is also replicated on a ring, a set of cufflinks, and a key ring. Several leather products also form part of this unique line. The magnificent black calfskin used for several accessories has been intricately embossed with the same woven design. The single or double card holder, wallet, and iphone 4 case also feature a small plaque with faceted black crystals, as the signature of the line. The pieces are certain to delight those who appreciate luxury that is not pretentious while pairing functionality with design. Bold and innovative, the "Rapid" bracelet combines materials with a piece of sculpted black rubber, two rows of tone on tone mini-crystals and originally shaped steel links. This play of contemporary and unexpected materials is also featured on a second bracelet, cufflinks and a key ring in the same theme. Cufflinks make a grand return in a wide variety of shapes as part of the summer trends at Swarovski. Bursting with diversity, this multifaceted collection will appeal to rockers as much as those with a preference for chic or contemporary styles. With these new lines designed for the multifaceted man, Swarovski has once again demonstrated its will and ability to further the technical boundaries of crystal and design.
