Design of the three-star hotel is underway, with completion expected in mid-2016. In addition to the 128 guest rooms, ibis Styles Sohar will benefit from an all-day dining restaurant, a lobby café, swimming pool, gym, and meeting rooms.
Situated on the Batinah Highway connecting the UAE and Oman, and in close proximity to the City Center shopping mall, Sohar airport, Sohar port, and the industrial zone, ibis Styles Sohar will attract business and leisure travellers.
The ibis Styles in Sohar is the 12th ibis-branded hotel under development in the Middle East, in addition to the 14 currently in operation, bringing the total number of rooms to over 6,300.
Accor Hotel Services Middle East currently operates 66 hotels with more than 16,000 rooms in the region and has 31 hotels under development. Its total of 97 properties thus brings it close to achieving its target to operate 100 hotels in the region by 2017.
