Luxury hospitality operator Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts debuts its urban resort concept in China with the upcoming property launch in Shanghai later this year. Following on the concept’s success in Bangkok, Seoul and Macau, Banyan Tree’s newest urban resort fuses the group’s signature luxury offerings with the facilities and services of a premier city-based retreat. Banyan Tree Shanghai On The Bund opening in October, is an elegant new addition to the hospitality landscape. The northern Bund area in which the hotel is located boasts both the historic landmarks of old Shanghai and easy access to modern cultural and commercial centres. Facing Pudong’s Lujiazui financial district, guests may enjoy views of the magnificent HuangPu River framed by a 1.8 kilometre belt of lush greenery on each riverbank. Banyan Tree Shanghai On The Bund is the first hotel in the city to provide river views from every suite. Each of the 130 suites are equipped with large French windows which open out onto the broad Bund thoroughfare. A variety of room types are available, including a signature suite which features panoramic views and a private dipping pool. In addition, the Banyan Suite will include a generously-sized swimming pool, a unique offering among Shanghai hotels. The hotel’s four food and beverage outlets — Oceans, Ming Yuan, Banyan Lounge and Stars — offer a wide range of dining experiences. From Western seafood restaurant Oceans to Chinese restaurant Ming Yuan, featuring Cantonese-style cuisine and picturesque garden views, along with a high-end Japanese sashimi and sushi counter, Tai Hei, guests have a plethora of dining venues to choose from.
