Hyatt has announced plans to launch its first hotel in Okinawa.
The company has entered into a franchise agreement for a Hyatt Regency hotel in Naha. Expected to open in late 2015, Hyatt Regency Naha, Okinawa will become the fifth Hyatt Regency in Japan and marks the company’s debut in Okinawa.
“We are delighted to bring the Hyatt Regency brand to Okinawa,” said Ratnesh Verma, Hyatt’s senior vice president of real estate & development for Asia Pacific.
“The Hyatt Regency brand is designed to keep people connected and energised, and we feel this hotel will be a perfect fit for the city of Okinawa and the travellers that we know will visit this destination. Japan continues to see a rise in inbound tourism, and we look forward to welcoming guests to Hyatt Regency Naha, Okinawa.”
The new hotel will feature 294 rooms and suites, four food and beverage outlets, meeting space, a fitness centre and an outdoor swimming pool.
Hyatt Regency Naha will become the company’s 10th property in Japan, and joins existing Hyatt Regency hotels in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Hakone, Fukuoka.
