Mantra Group is set to manage an 844-room complex in Melbourne.
The Australian hotelier has been appointed to operate the Bell City development, which is currently managed by Rydges. The development will be relaunched under the Mantra and BreakFree brands in late December.
The Bell City site consists of two towers – one comprising a 383-room upscale hotel and apartment complex. The part will carry the Mantra brand.
The second tower, which will become a BreakFree hotel, offers 461 midscale rooms, apartments and studios, as well as budget accommodation for students.
“The consistently high-performing greater Melbourne hotel market, combined with the metropolitan location of the Bell City hotels and its unique market drivers, presented us with an exceptional opportunity to capitalise on our existing portfolio of seven hotels in the Melbourne CBD,” said Mantra Group’s CEO, Bob East. “We… believe [this complex] has great potential to service a number of markets.”
Bell City is located approximately 11km north of Melbourne’s CBD.
