The much-awaited announcement has been made by Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. The Company recently revealed that Shangri-La Hotel, At The Shard, London will open on 6 May 2014. The hotel termed as the tallest hotel in Western Europe and the first high-rise hotel in London, occupies levels 34 to 52 of the 72-storey Shard. Shangri-La president and chief executive officer Greg Dogan said: “The Shard is a landmark synonymous with London and we hope to encourage visitors to our hotel. We are excited to be an integral part of the ongoing development of the South Bank community and the borough of Southwark.” The hotel boasts 202 guestrooms and suites will open from levels 36 to 50. The rooms are classified as deluxe, premier and grand premier guestrooms. A highlight of the property is the three signature suites that will be unveiled in September. There will be three dining venues. G?NG – London’s highest bar on level 52. T?NG – a signature restaurant and lounge on level 35 and LÁNG – an artisan deli on the ground floor. Source: Travel Daily
