Tourism police in al-Qusair in Egypt’s Red Sea province, discovered during inspections of a number of hotels and resorts, that the Fanadir Hotel remained open for guests, in clear violation of a decision earlier this year by the Ministry of Tourism to close the hotel. The inspection team discovered that the hotel ?had a number of visitors and was serving alcoholic beverages.? The bottles of alcohol were confiscated and First Lieutenant Abdel Hakeem Darwish of al-Qusaid police called in a food ?inspector to perform tests that could determine if the confiscated items were appropriate for human ?consumption or not.
