Indian celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor has chosen Bahrain to launch his first overseas Yellow Chilli restaurant after opening in the Seef area of the Gulf kingdom. His Yellow Chilli chain is famous in many cities across India and Kapoor is one of its best known chefs. He stars in the TV show Khana Khazana, which is the longest running show of its kind in Asia, and broadcasts in 120 countries. He also launched his FoodFood channel in January 2011. The opening in Bahrain, Kapoor's first outside India, has been a joint venture with SunCity Ventures. Ahmed Esam Fakhro, managing director - SunCity Ventures, said: "SunCity Ventures brings to Bahrain the world's finest brands, and we are very glad to open the first The Yellow Chilli restaurant in the Middle East at Seef Mall." Sanjeev Kapoor has been sharing his love for Indian cuisine with his popular cookery show Khana Khazana for the past 18 years. His portfolio of restaurants include The Yellow Chilli, Khazana, Options, Signature, Sura Vie, Pin Yin Café, and The Gold Leaf Banquets across 14 cities in India. He said: "It is indeed a proud moment for me to bring the joys of Indian food to the prosperous land of Bahrain. The Yellow Chilli, as a brand, has been growing by leaps and bounds in many cities of India and its friendly approach has made it a household name."
