Sharjah - WAM

Municipal Authorities in Sharjah have safely collected 400 diesel drums from the sea after they fell from a sinking ship off the coast of the emirate.

Assistant Director of Agriculture and Environment Department at Sharjah Municipality, Hasan Altafaaq, said the all floating barrels were collected and stored in a safe place.

Altafaaq noted that the municipality coordinated with Sharjah Environment Company Bee'ah and several relevant governmental entities. He added that seawater samples taken from the site were sent for analysis to determine the quality of water and remove any pollutants.
