Land encroachments
Cairo - MENA

The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation removed 465 encroachments on agricultural lands in a number of the governorates.

This comes as part of an extended campaign of the ministry to face violations and maintain the agricultural area.

A report of the Agriculture Ministry Monday said Sharqiya comes first with 86 reported violation cases then comes Beheira with 81 cases while Luxor comes last with only three cases.

Since January 25 revolution till now, encroachments on agricultural lands reached more than 1.4 million cases, threatening the country's food security in light of the declining area of cultivated lands.
