The Dubai Municipality has won seven awards in various categories of the 2017 IdeasAmerica awards.
The municipality won the Best Idea Award for 2017 at the American Ideas Conference, and was qualified to participate in the 2018 World Ideas Conference for the proposal on the integrated system for the treatment of medical waste for its Waste Management Department.
It also won the Golden Award for the Green Idea category for the same proposal, and the Bronze Award for Outstanding Communication category for the proposal of excellent communication in the Health and Safety Department.
Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director-General of Dubai Municipality, congratulated the municipality's Knowledge Management Department for winning the awards and praised the efforts of employees towards achieving success in all fields, which reaffirmed the civic body’s pioneering role in implementing the government's wise instructions to explore centres of excellence.
Lootah stressed that Dubai Municipality is one of the departments that always encourage its employees to innovate and excel in various fields of work, believing in the importance of inculcating this positive behavior among the employees and providing a creative environment that encourages creativity and encouraging continued perseverance, excellence and winning various international and local awards.
Mohammed Mubarak Al Mutaiwei, Assistant Director-General for Communication and Community Affairs, handed over the awards to Lootah, in the presence of a number of senior officials.
