Dubai - Arabstoday

Dubai Municipality has urged all advertisement companies to stop using diesel-powered generators to light up ad boards due to their harmful effect on the environment, as well as spoiling the city’s image. Engineer Yousuf Abdullah, Acting Director of the Buildings Department at Dubai Municipality, said that the civic body will be issuing urgent notices to all advertisement companies to stop using the generators. He said that the companies’ boards will be linked to Dubai’s electricity network. Yousuf Abdullah added that the Buildings Department will receive the applications of the companies, approve them, and then forward them to DEWA to install the electric metres and supply the electricity.
