Environment Minister Khaled Fahmy said on Tuesday that the government would announce an international tender for getting rid of the cancer-causing containers piled in the Adabiya port, near the canal city of Port Said.
During a visit to the port, the minister noted a number of offers were rejected due to the lack of the necessary experience in the field.
There are about sixteen containers containing hazardous carcinogenic materials in the port for about 16 ministers, he said, adding the port would be cleaned up by the end of the year.
He added that at least 20 other similar containers were cleared from the place by a company that later was found to be a dummy corporation.
