Yousef Al-Ramzy
Amman - KUNA

A young Kuwaiti participant at the seventh annual conference of the Arab Forum for Environment and Development (AFED), which kicked off in the Jordanian capital Wednesday, discussed his personal experience with rationalizing water consumption inside homes.
Yousef Al-Ramzy, a 14-year-old, presented a worksheet during a session Thursday, entitled "Arab initiatives to enhance food security", detailing his experience alongside other participants from Lebanon, Palestine, and Jordan.
He explained that water rationalization awareness campaigns have inspired him to personally implement the rationalization principle inside his home, noting that the water saving rate came to 57 percent following his experience.
Rationalization is very significant in stopping water squandering, preserving the environment, and decreasing water bills, Al-Ramzy stated to KUNA, adding that his experience shows how easy it is to implement this principle insides homes.
Meanwhile, Wejdan Al-Oqab, Secretary General of the Kuwait Environment Protection Society (KEPS), explained to KUNA significant outcomes of Al-Ramzy's experience, especially since Kuwait and Gulf countries suffer increases in water consumption, noting that the main goal behind the young student's worksheet is to promote awareness on rationalization's importance and individuals' capability to implement it.
