More government and private entities have joined the ‘Union Tree initiative’ launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, as part of the 41st National Day celebrations. On Thursday, Mohammed bin Dhaen Al Hamili, Minister of Energy, planted a ‘Union Tree’ in the presence of the ministry’s employees. The minister said the UAE’s wise leadership is keen to instill a sense of belonging and loyalty among the employees toward their homeland. Shaikh Mohammed’s initiative is aimed at consolidating the spirit of unionism and love for the country. Labour Minister Saqr Ghobash Saeed Ghobash also planted a ‘Union Tree’ in the courtyard of the Department of Inspection’s building in Khalifa A district in Abu Dhabi. The event was attended by the assistant undersecretaries, directors of departments and a number of employees of the Ministry of Labour. Commenting on the occasion, Ghobash said love of and allegiance to the country dictate self-denial and continuous work to preserve the country led by the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. In Al Ain, employees of the National Media Council (NMC) office also planted a ‘Union Tree’ at the office premises. Abdullah Saleh bin Badwa, Director of the NMC office in Al Ain City, said the initiative of Shaikh Mohammed aims to promote a sense of belonging and loyalty to the country. The real estate wing of the Dubai government, Wasl, announced that it planted a Union Tree at the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club, part of Wasl’s portfolio of assets, on Thursday afternoon.
