The Ministry of Energy and Industry and the Emirates Wildlife Society have signed an MoU to strengthen joint-cooperation and efforts to achieve the objectives of the National Energy Strategy 2050, and more specifically to achieve the renewable energy target of 44%.
Commenting on signing the MoU, Dr. Matar Hamed Al Neyadi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Industry, said, "This partnership will contribute to achieving the ambitious goals set by the Government of the UAE to ensure sustainable development for future generations, especially as the WWF has extensive expertise and more experience; and has maintained contacts with various specialists through its multi-national network."
Laila Mustafa Abdul Latif, General Manager of Emirates Wildlife Society, said, "We are delighted to work with the UAE Ministry of Energy and Industry and are ready to provide support to meet the objectives of the National Energy Strategy 2050.The strategic partnership will also allow us to jointly promote renewable energy options in UAE, address climate change, and air pollution by taking advantage of the rapid development of technology and lower costs, as both are critical to the growth and prosperity of the green economy in the UAE. "
