Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, has directed the Supreme Committee of the "Cultural Summer" National Programme to exert all efforts to accommodate the different age groups joining the programme organised by the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development in all its centres across the country until the 10th of August.
He also called for involving People of Determination in all the main, general and recreational courses of the programme, which primarily aims to promote a sense of belonging and loyalty, in addition to the UAE national identity, among the new generation.
Sheikh Nahyan explained that People of Determination are one of the most effective factors in the community and their energies and potentials must be supported and utilised in the development of a comprehensive community.
Sheikh Nahyan said that taking care of People of Determination reflects taking care of society as a whole and today, the interest, attention and development of their various skills reflects and measures the development and progress of societies. "We thank God for the great attention given to the determined ones from our wise government under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, over the past years, which in turn has positioned the UAE at the top of the list of Arab countries in this regard."
He continued, "This creates a new perspective on the possibility of the utilisation of their skills and enabling them to enjoy available opportunities for their development to facilitate their integration into society after the development of integrated cultural and educational programmes to eliminate some of the problems they might face and facilitate their involvement in work and normal life, he minister reaffirmed."
Sheikh Nahyan pointed out that UAE laws and legislation confirm the importance of treating People of Determination as normal citizens in terms of their rights and duties, including the importance of providing them with all necessary opportunities to benefit from educational programmes and services, as any other person living on the land of the UAE.
