According to civic body, though May 12 and 13 have been fixed for the celebrations at international level, DM started activities right from the beginning of the month. Exhibition, seminar, competition and other awareness drives are on the cards. As part of making awareness among its employees and customers ,the municipality has started a best comment contest regarding birds and May 9 has been fixed last date for submission of entries. A photo exhibition where different kind of local and international birds are featured has been made for public view at Falcon Centre in Nad Al Sheba Area. A seminar which is expected to shed light on migratory Birds and will be addressed by experts in the field is scheduled to be held at Falcon Centre on 14th May. Dr. Jamal Badani from Ministry of Environment and Water will deliver a presentation on ‘ Endangered Bird species in UAE’. Humaid Obeid Al Humaidi, Managing Director, Dubai Falcon Hospital will talk on falconry in the country. Sarah Gough, also from The Falcon Hospital, will address the audience on artificial nest for falcons. Special awareness program for students is to be organized in collaboration with Al Ebdaa Model School in Deira on 16th of this month.
