Circus trainer mauled by tiger during Madrid performance

A circus trainer was bitten and scratched by a tiger during a performance in Madrid, authorities say. The 35-year-old man, who works for the Gottani Circus, was bitten on the neck and suffered deep scratches Friday evening, ThinkSpain reported. The attack occurred as the audience watched. The man's mother, 60, was hospitalized after suffering a panic attack, officials said. The performance was suspended following the attack but resumed once the injured man was in an ambulance.
