Hassleholm - UPI

A pack of camels wandered off from a circus in southern Sweden and ended up causing traffic delays, officials said. Five camels somehow managed to get out of their temporary enclosure at the Circus Olympia on the outskirts of Hassleholm Saturday night, The Local.se reported. We have electric fences but they still managed to tear down the fence and get out. They just went for a little walk," circus owner Henrika Bengtsson told the Expressen newspaper. The camels walked into a street and caused traffic to come to a standstill in both directions. Jorgen Sandqvist said he was stuck in the traffic with dozens of other motorists. "There were at least four or five of them out taking a stroll. They seemed to have all the time in the world and were moving slowly despite all the attention," Sandqvist told Expressen. The camels have since been returned to the circus. "These animals are a bit mischievous," Bengtsson said.
