Power loads measuring 1,320 megawatts (MW) were reduced on Wednesday, while the power gap between today's consumption and supply is expected to hit 1,400 MW, the Egyptian Electric Utility and Consumer Protection Regulatory Agency said Thursday.
The expected maximum electricity load for today will be 23,300 MW against 23,370 MW on Wednesday, which saw the minimum load at 15,650 MW, the regulator said in a daily bulletin.
The load indicator appeared in green color from midnight to 3:50 p.m., meaning the load was safe at the time.
Turning orange indicates an urgent need to rationalize consumption, while red is a warning of the high load on the power grid.
