As many as 39 firms have applied to generate power from different resources, said the minister of electricity on Sunday.
Most of these firms seek electricity from renewable resources, Minister Mohamed Shaker told a symposium held in Cairo.
The event tackled challenges Egypt is facing to meet the growing consumption of power.
