The State Council advisory committee will hold a special session on Wednesday to review two contracts of the Dabaa nuclear project, the head of State Council said on Tuesday.

Ahmed Abul Azm said it was necessary to hold the session as soon as possible in view of the importance of the two contracts.

On Sunday, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a meeting with Alexei Likhachev, the new head of the Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom, which cooperates with Egypt in implementing the Dabaa nuclear plant project.

During the meeting, Sisi expressed Egypt's keenness to finalize contracts and start work on the Dabaa nuclear power plant as soon as possible.

Sisi praised cooperation between Egypt and Russia on the project, which he deemed as a symbol of friendship between the two countries.

The Russian official said that Rosatom is keen to complete the project at the earliest possible time.

In November 2015, Sisi oversaw the signing of the deal between Egypt and Russia to establish the first Egyptian nuclear power plant which is expected to be take about 12 years.
