Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain bin Ali Mirza met Egyptian Electricity and Energy Minister Dr. Mohammed Shaker, on the sidelines of the visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa to Cairo.
The two sides discussed joint cooperation between Bahrain and Egypt, focusing particularly on the sectors of electricity and renewable energy. The Egyptian officials stressed their country's expertise in developing electrical services and promoting the renewable energy sector. The two sides approved a national target to meet 20% of the needs in electricity through the development of renewable energy by 2020.
