Rome - MENA

Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab has witnessed the signing of an agreement between Italy's Edison Company and Egypt's Qalaa Holding company to establish a power plant.

In statements on Thursday, Mohammad Shuaib, managing director of Qalaa company, said that the Italian company will commit to pumping additional investments in Abu Qir to produce more quantities of natural gas.

Mahlab started Wednesday a three-day official visit to Italy at the invitation of his Italian counterpart Matteo Renzi.

The visit aims at boosting economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
