Dubai Supreme Council of Energy (SCE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to provide a regulatory framework and facilitate collaboration between the two entities. The MoU, which was signed by SCE Vice-Cahirman Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer and UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in the UAE Dr Elissar Sarouh, aims to promote sustainable development in Dubai and the Gulf region through organizing and hosting next year in Dubai "The Sustainable Arabia Conference" under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the official news agency WAM said. It also aims to develop and update an e-portal for reducing carbon emissions.
