EC, Russia to hold expert-level gas talks Thursday

The European Commission will hold expert-level talks with Russia on Thursday over the Ukraine gas price row, said EC Energy Commissioner Guenther Oettinger.
"We will first hold a technical meeting on expert level between my services and Russia in Brussels on Thursday September 4," Oettinger said Tuesday, Reuters reported.
He met with Russian Energy Minister Aleksandr Novak in Moscow last Friday and will talk to Ukrainian Energy Minister Yury Prodan in Baku, Azerbaijan, on September 8.
Russia, Ukraine and the EC then will agree on a date and location for the next round of trilateral gas talks in mid-September.
