Egypt’s exports of natural gas and its derivatives plummeted in September by 86.36% to hit $18.1 million compared to $97.1 million in the same month last year, a recent report showed.
Natural gas production dropped by 12.16% to reach 3.011 million tons in September against 3.428 million tons in the parallel month in 2013, said a report released by the state-run Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC), of which MENA obtained a copy.
Domestic consumption of natural gas also shrunk in the same month by 8.01%, recording 2.962 million tons, versus September 2013’s 3.22 million tons, the report added.
