Minister of Electricity Mohamed Shaker
Cairo - MENA

Minister of Electricity Mohamed Shaker has witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company and Tharwa Investment Company to establish a power plant with total investments hitting 9.6 billion dollars.
The memo came within the framework of agreements signed during the Egypt Economic Development Conference, said a statement on Tuesday by the Ministry of Electricity.
The 6,000 megawatt coal-operated power plant will be executed in two parallel stages, the statement said.
The plant will add new capabilities to meet the increasing demand for energy, the statement said.
