EU: Gas supply normal from Russia

The EU Monday said it has no official information on gas supply disruption from Russia to Ukraine after Russia announced it had stopped gas supplies to Ukraine afer the collapse of EU-mediated talks in Kiev last night.
"Supply to EU is normal. The early warning mechanism has not been triggered so far," EU energy spokesperson, Sabine Berger, told journalists in Brussels.
Meanwhile, EU Energy Commissioner Gunther Oettinger warned that the EU could face gas shortages in winter.
"The next weeks will not be a problem, we will receive our gas volumes," Oettinger told reporters in Vienna Monday. He, however, warned, that if Ukraine uses its reserves "then we would have a problem with a cold winter." About 15 percent of Russian gas to the EU passes through Ukraine.
