Minister of Housing Mostafa Madboli announced the start of the experimental operation of the first solar energy station to generate electricity in Sadat city with a capacity of 65 kilowatts at a total cost of EGP 1.548 million.
This comes within the framework of the state's tendency to activate the usage of sustainable energy and rationalizing power consumption.
The New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) inked a cooperation protocol with the body of national service projects of the Armed Forces to substitute 27,500 street lamps with LED lamp lanterns in 11 new cities to save energy.
