The Vice President of the Republic, Hassabo Mohamed Abdul-Rahman, has been briefed on the plans, programs and efforts being done by the Ministry of Petroleum in production and exploration of different oil fields.
This came during his meeting Sunday in his office at the Republican Palace with the Minister of Petroleum, Engineer Makkawi Mohamed Awad, who said in a press statement following the meeting that he briefed the Vice President on the oil fields position in the country and what is being made by the ministry in terms of exploration of new oil fields via signing agreements with the executing companies, indicating that these companies would sign an agreement to push ahead the constructive work in Al-Rawat field which is located in the White Nile, the North Kordofan and Sennar States.
The Vice President will attend the signing of the agreement today evening at the Ministry of Petroleum between the government and three companies (State Petroleum, a Nigerian company and Sudapet).
