The 3rd International Symposium of Iran 2026 has begun here in Tehran with senior energy and strategic management scholars in a bid to draw the country's strategic energy outlook for 2026. Attended by head of the Expediency Council Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, the symposium is believed to play a key part in providing Iran's energy outlook for the next 12 years to come. Iran's energy outlook was put by the parliamentary energy commission on the table of the then-minister of petroleum of Iran in 2008 and the Ministry of Petroleum was put in charge of providing the financial resources for the scheme, said Hamid Reza Katouzian, head of the Oil Industry Research Center, in a press conference prior to the symposium.
