Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) Sunday attributed heavy smoke noticed from AlAhmadi Port Refinery to increased gas production of the gas liquefication plant.
Khaled AlAsousi, KNPC Deputy Managing Director for allied services and the company's spokesman, said heavy smoke was also caused by the operation of the fourth gas pipeline.
AlAsousi said work was underway to reduce quantity of smoke, which would yield results in the coming hours.
He added that refineries in the ports of AlAhmadi, Shuaibi and Abdullah were working normally, and the production was at its maximum limits.
