The Ministry of Oil announced that Kuwait will be hosting Gulf Cooperation Council Petroleum Cooperation Committee talks between September 10 and 11.
Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Al-Naimi of Saudi Arabia, Minister of Energy Suhail Al-Mazroui of United Arab Emirates and Minister of Energy and Industry Mohammed Al-Sada of Qatar have all confirmed their attendance of the talks.
The meeting will be chaired by Kuwaiti Oil Minister and State Minister for National Assembly Affairs Ali Al-Omair, and will discuss Kuwait's proposal to enact cooperation on expertise and the exchange of know-how between the six states' oil companies, said a ministry statement.
It will also discuss an internal report conducted by the 'energy team' of officials on talks they held with international economic blocs during 2014.
Based on the report several recommendations, that back joint work in oil and gas between GCC states and enhance their reputation on the global level, will be taken.
Ministers in their meeting on September 11 will take the "appropriate decisions" based on an undersecretaries meeting, held a day earlier, the statement added. (end) asj.sd
