Russia and Iran Tuesday signed a package of agreements here to build eight nuclear power units in Iran.
The Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi has signed a memorandum on mutual understanding with chief of Russia's state-run nuclear corporation Rosatom Sergey Kiriyenko to build four nuclear power units in Bushehr plant, TASS agency said, citing Russian sources.
The agency added that the location of other four units has not yet been determined.
Russian sources stressed that all nuclear facilities built by Russia's support in Iran will be strictly supervised by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The deal forms a quantum change in Russian-Iranian ties, TASS quoted Salehi as saying.
