The Electricity and Water (EWA)'s Executive President, Shaikh Nawaf bin Ibrahim bin Hamad Al Khalifa, inaugurated the New Riffa Electricity Emergency Centre in compliance with the directives of the wise leadership of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, to provide optimum electricity and water services to citizens and residents in the Kingdom and to prevent any power outages. The comprehensive call centre responds to customer complaints in Riffa and Isa Town areas and a team of specialists who examine power stations and carry out regular maintenance, take grid load readings, promptly determine faulty spots and fix them immediately in addition to any other services as might be deemed in future. The new centre features 34 standby generators and modern equipment ready to restore electric current within record time. The Chief Executive of the EWA said that the Authority currently studies the establishment of similar hi-tech quality development projects in other governorates in the Kingdom. He lauded the performance of the Muharraq Centre for Electricity Emergency. Shaikh Nawaf bin Ibrahim bin Hamad Al Khalifa thanked the local newspapers and citizens in various parts of the Kingdom for their cooperation with the EWA by reducing the rate of power consumption especially during peak hours which contributed by much lessening of the durations of power outages this year compared with previous years.
